NPP Demands Apology from Multimedia & Samson Over ‘Unsavoury’ Comment

The ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) is demanding an unqualified apology from the Multimedia Group over unsavoury pronouncement made by the Host of Fact File Samson Anyenini over the weekend.

Mr Anyenini is said to have described list of names scheduled to represent the NPP on the show as ‘not up to the standard of the show’.

According to him, the representatives were no match to the status of the show which mostly have panelists including the Editor in Chief of the New Crusading Guide Abdul Malik Kwaku Baako, the Communications Director of NPP Nana Akomea and others.

The names rejected by Multimedia and Mr Anyenini include: the Deputy Executive Director of  National Service Scheme (NSS) Mr. Henry Nana Boakye and Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Export Promotion Authority Eric Twum.

A statement signed by the Acting General Secretary of NPP John Boadu, said, ‘We have worked hand in hand with your organization at different levels and find this not only unnecessary but a display of high handedness in a simple matter that could have been resolved through dialogue and respect. The party demands an immediate and an unqualified apology from Multimedia and from Samson Anyenini’.

15/4/2017 ATTENTION: MULTIMEDIA GROUP Dear Sir/Madam

NPP DEMANDS AN UNQUALIFIED APOLOGY FROM MULTIMEDIA GROUP

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) demands an official apology from your media organization and also Samson Anyenini, the Host of your program, Newsfile.

The NPP after submitting names for representation on Saturday 15th April, 2017 edition of Newsfile, was surprised to hear on the live show our representatives “were not up to the standard of the show”.

The unsavoury pronouncement was made by the Host. The party finds this statement very unfortunate.

Mr. Henry Nana Boakye, who is currently the Deputy Executive Director of the National Service Scheme and Eric Twum, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Export Promotion Authority, are members of our national communications team.

We have worked hand in hand with your organization at different levels and find this not only unnecessary but a display of high handedness in a simple matter that could have been resolved through dialogue and respect.

The party demands an immediate and an unqualified apology from Multimedia and from Samson Anyenini.

…Signed… John Boadu (General Secretary, Ag.)
