The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has marked down the 100 days in office of the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo describing him as ‘wasteful’.
According to the NDC party, the Akufo-Addo’s government has performed abysmally contrary to promises they made to Ghanaians to protect public purse.
Addressing Journalists in Accra, the Deputy Minority Leader James Klutse Avedzi, said the promises of job creation for teeming unemployed youth has turned into job venture for unemployed New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) members.
An incensed MP said the army of ministers will have a toll on the tax payers calling on government to cut down the number of his appointees.
‘Simply put, President Akufo-Addo has been wasteful and has not been candid with Ghanaians. The NPP government has failed Ghanaians. A bloated, wasteful and ostentatious government,…in the past 100 days, everything the President has done points to the exact opposite, appointment of 110 ministers which are all apparatchiks appointed without due processes. Ghanaians have been shocked with an unprecedented elephant size government…this number is absolutely excessive and unnecessary, it constitutes a great burden on the tax payer. What he has done is far from protecting the public purse,’ he fumed.
The Member of Parliament (MP) for Ketu North, said the atrocities caused by NPP Delta Force has marred the democratic credentials of the country.
‘This outright thuggery will have negative impact on Ghana in attracting foreign investors and tourists which will adversely affect the economy,’ he expressed fear.
Mr Avedzi called on the government to up their game and desist from turning blind eye to the sufferings of Ghanaians and set their hearts and minds at peace.
