Kumasi City Mall Food Court Named After late Asantehemaa

The Food Court in the Kumasi City Mall has been named after the late Asantehemaa Nana Afia Kobi Serwaa Ampem II.

Speaking during the royal launch of the Mall on Wednesday attended by the asante king, the Chairman of Delico Property Investments Ghana Ltd Kofi Sekyere, he said, ‘with your kind permission Otumfuo, our Food Court shall be christened ‘Nana Afia Serwaa Kobi Ampem II Food Court’.

‘Nana, ye dawo ase, Nana, ye da wo ase a, ensa, we cannot thank you enough, but in our humble way, we would like to recognise your association with this project by naming the Food Court in the mall after our late queen mother and your own mother-Nana Afia Serwaa Kobi Ampem II,’ he said.

The thirteenth queen mother of the Asante kingdom died last year.

The US$95 million project is a development owned by Delico Kumasi Limited, which is a fully owned subsidiary of Delico Property Investments Ghana Limited, the same group which owns the Achimota Retail Centre and is the majority shareholder of West Hills Mall.
