Nana Addo visits Senegal, Guinea & Cape Verde

The President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has left Ghana on Monday May 15, 2017, to begin his second phase of his official working visits to some ECOWAS countries.

The days he will spend in the various countries include: Senegal May 15-17, Guinea May 17-19 and Cape Verde 19-21 May, 2017.

In a statement signed by the Director of Communications at the presidency, Eugene Arhin, it said, ‘The visits will afford President Akufo-Addo the opportunity to introduce himself, as the new Ghanaian leader, formally to the governments and peoples of our neighbouring countries, explore and deepen our bilateral relations with them, and reiterate Ghana’s full commitment to the ECOWAS project’.

He will be accompanied by the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Shirley Ayorkor Botchway and other government appointees.

He is scheduled to return to Ghana from the second phase of his tour on Sunday, May 21, 2017.

PRESIDENT AKUFO-ADDO VISITS SENEGAL, GUINEA & CAPE VERDE

The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, left Ghana on Monday, May 15, 2017, to begin the second phase of his official working visits to the countries of the ECOWAS region.

This phase will see President Akufo-Addo visiting the following countries:

 

  • Senegal: 15th – 17th May, 2017
  • Guinea:                         17th – 19th May, 2017
  • Cape Verde:             19th – 21st May, 2017

 

The visits will afford President Akufo-Addo the opportunity to introduce himself, as the new Ghanaian leader, formally to the governments and peoples of our neighbouring countries, explore and deepen our bilateral relations with them, and reiterate Ghana’s full commitment to the ECOWAS project.

He will be accompanied by the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon. Shirley Ayorkor BotchwaMP, and officials of the Presidency and Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

President Akufo-Addo will return to Ghana from the second phase of his tour on Sunday, 21st May, 2017. In his absence, the Vice President, Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, shall, in accordance with Article 60(8) of the Constitution, act in his stead.
