Board member of Great Olympics, Fred Pappoe has admitted that his outfit was unfair to Godwin Attram in the appointment of a new Coach, Tom Strand.
Attram, who used to double as a player and coach for the ‘Dade’ lads was demoted to the assistant Coach role following the appointment of Tom Strand as the Head Coach of the club.
The former Ghana international was however unhappy with the decision and threatened to quit. Papoe insists that Atram has served the club for a very long time and deserved a better treatment.
“Attram was not totally against the decision to strengthen the technical team. He made a very strong representation that if we will get someone strong and experience to work with him, and ready to serve in whatever capacity,” Papoe explained to Ultimate FM Sports.
“The only difficulty is the way and manner we [board] introduced Tom [Strand] in a manner that did not go down well.
“He’s been very loyal to Olympics right from his infancy since the 90’s when he joined the club.”
Great Olympics are sitting 14th on the league table with 19 points. They will play as guest to second placed Aduana Stars on match day 20 of the Ghana Premier League.
