The Kumasi Petty Traders Association has warned the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) boss Eric Osei Assibey Antwi to refrain from adopting the legacy of his predecessor Kojo Bonsu or face their wrath.
The traders claimed they have been sacked from selling on pavements without the KMA giving them proper market to sell their wares warning that he will be booted out if he continues to harass them just like Mr Bonsu did during his tenure.
As part of the Kejetia/Central Market Redevelopment Project, the Contractors working on the project are to commence work on the road network around the project site which is a key component of the on-going project.
The KMA has urged traders, motorists and the general public that interim arrangements have been made to relocate the traders selling on the pavement near Dr. Mensah.
Commenting on this issue in an interview with Osei Kwadwo, the Secretary of the Association Emmanuel Kwarteng said Mr Osei Assibey should find a convenient place for the traders before he makes any attempt to relocate them.
He therefore urged the mayor not to follow Mr Bonsu’s bad legacy where he later found himself wanting.
