Audio: I warned Kotoko players not to travel on accident day-Eagle Prophet

The Founder and Head Pastor of God’s Crown Chapel Prophet Reindolph Oduro Gyebi has disclosed that he warned players of Kumasi Asante Kotoko ahead of their gory accident to postpone their travel.

According to him, he relayed the information to one of the officials of Kotoko (name with held) around 4:pm via telephone conversation to warn the team not to travel on the accident day (Wednesday).

He said the person refused to pass the information on as discussed indicating that God revealed to him about the incident.

Speaking on Abusua Sports hosted by Kofi Larbi, the Prophet said the management member was just obstinate adding that he called to apologize after the accident.

He said he is devastated about the incident and that the accident could have been prevented if the official had obeyed God’s warning.

‘I was surprised when I heard the accident, the accident could have been prevented, obstinance is the cause of the accident. God is still in his miracle mood, he reveals things that happen in the country to me. I spoke to one of the Kotoko officials that the team will be involved in an accident so he should warn them not to travel, but they should postpone it to today Thursday instead of the Wednesday evening. I talked to the person around 4 pm on Wednesday on phone. He thanked me and assured of passing the information on,’ he said.

The players were returning from Accra following their midweek clash against Inter Allies when the bus carrying the players together with the coaches ran over a stationery KIA truck.

The Equipment officer of the club George Asare died in the accident.

The head coaches Steve Polack and Godwin Ablordey and other players sustained various degrees of injuries.
