Ghanaians to gather at ‘Asomdwee’ Park today in remembrance of Atta Mills

Ghanaians across the country are expected to gather at the ‘Asomdwee’ park in Accra today (July 24, 2017) to celebrate the fifth passing on of the former President John Evans Atta Mills.

The late Professor who aged 68 was buried at the Geese Park, now known as ‘Asomdwee’ Park, close to the Osu-Castle.

He died on July 24, 2012 after being rushed to the 37 Military Hospital in Accra for treatment.

The Deputy General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) and former spokesperson to the late President, Koku Anyidoho explained that as part of the activities, there will be a wreath laying ceremony.

“A fifth anniversary is a milestone event, there will be a gathering at the Asomdwee Park where he was buried, followed by a wreath laying ceremony and then we will gather at the Osu Kuuku hill office which used to be President Mills’ campaign office when he was opposition leader.’ he said.
