Fast rising Ghanaian international Joseph Aidoo, has revealed he was called ‘lion’ during his time with Hammarby IF following his move to KRC Genk.
The former Inter Allies captain on Monday afternoon signed a 3-year deal for the Belgium-based club with one year option, after spending three years with the Johanneshov-based club.
The 21-year-old was unveiled on Tuesday afternoon and was subsequently presented with the number 45 jersey. He later joined the other squad for his first pre-season training session with the team.
The club’s website described him as being ‘…physically very strong, good at head and in one against one situation. He can be played at various positions and is thus a very valuable addition to the Genkse kernel.’
Aidoo made 30 appearances for Hammarby IF and scored one goal before switching to Genk.
“In Sweden, they call me the lion because I’m not easy to pass [by]. I’m here to help the team to achieve its targets,” Aidoo told the club’s website during his first training.
The marauding center back is in line to make his first debut for Genk on Saturday as they play as host to Waasland Beveren.
