The Ghana Music Rights Organization (GHAMRO) has held its second annual general meeting in the Ashanti regional capital, Kumasi with induction of new board members.
Present at the event were ace musicians, producers and publishers in the music industry.
Artistes like Awura Badu, Agya Koo Nimo, Aboagye Dacosta just to mention a few were present at the event.
The second GHAMRO AGM which was held at the KNUST- Great Hall saw the inauguration and induction of its new board members.
The board inaugurated a 12-member board to steer the affairs of the organization for the next four years with Rexford Owusu Marfo known in showbiz circles as Rex Omar emerging as the Chairman of the board.
In his acceptance speech, Rex Omar revealed that the Minister of Justice and Attorney Gloria Akuffo has given the organization power to collect monies due GHAMRO.
He highlighted some of the plans he intends to implement within his four term in office.
According to him, he intends to set up a welfare policy based on scientific research and review monies from three thousand Ghana cedis to four thousand Ghana cedis (GHC3,000-GHC4,000) given to members who will lose their relatives.
He added that, the organization admits all has not been well with royalty payments but his newly board of members will work on it to make the organization better.
The chairman called on all GHAMRO members to unite to make the organisation a better one.
