President Akuffo-Addo starts the day 2 of his tour of the Central region at Essarkyir in the Ekumfi district.
This is the district where the Late Atta Mills hails from and it is also expected to host the first of the series of factories under the one-district-one- factory initiative.
President Akuffo-Addo then as candidate promised to start the one – district- one- factory initiative at Ekumfi as well as build a mini harbour there in honour of the Late Mills whom he described as a great friend.
The district is set to benefit from a citrus factory as the area abounds in citrus crops.
Last week ,the coordinator for the programme Hon.Gifty Konadu visited the area and indicated that the factory when completed will offer jobs to some 1500 people in the area.
Well , Nana Akuffo-Addo is expected to throw more light on the programme as well as other benefits that the people of Ekumfi stand to gain under his government especially against the backdrop that it is the first since 1992 that the NPP has won the Ekumfi seat as the people have always stayed loyal to the NDC.
Starr News’ Central regional correspondent Kwaku Baah-Acheamfour is with the president and joins us with details on the tour.
