The Police Service has released for burial body of Idrisu Issifu alias Dangyuma,38, one of the four persons found dead at Akukuso near Kwabeng in the Eastern region.
The body was released to the family Monday evening after Police completed an autopsy.
The body was handed over to the family at Anyinam Zongo by a high powered delegation from Police Headquarters -Accra, the Eastern regional Police Commander DCOP Simon Afeku, Anyinam and Kwabeng District Police Commanders.The delegation was backed with tight security.
The Police delegation assured the family that, the Inspector General of Police has directed for detail investigations into the incident for the prosecution of the perpetrators.
The body was subsequently buried.
Amanu Dantani, Senior Brother of the late Idrisu Issifu tells Starr news, the family even though wants justice to prevail, it has surrendered the matter to Allah to deal with the perpetrators.
Angry youth of Anyinam Zongo demanded the immediate release of the body for burial shortly after the bodies were found Sunday in line with Islamic Religion. The angry youth mounted road blocks in an attempt to prevent the Kwabeng Police from conveying the bodies to the Kibi government hospital morgue compelling Police to use the long winding alternate route.
The four persons found dead on Sunday are, Yaw,25, Alhaji,22, Iddrisu Issifu alias Dangyimah, 38, and T.T were found dead in a river. Operation Vanguard taskforce have been accused of the incident however it has denied the report.
On Sunday at about 8 am, owner of the excavator, Annor Isaac reported to the Kwabeng Police that he sent one Yaw and Three others in charge of a Low Loader Vehicle to cart an excavator Machine to Extra Gold mining concession at Akukuso near Kwarbeng at around 11 pm. However, on reaching a section of the road, they were reported to have encountered the operation Vanguard Taskforce hence out of fear, abandoned the Low Loader Vehicle carting the excavator, with the engine still running and fled into the bush.
Police Proceeded to the scene, combed the area and found the four in an abandoned pit filled with water. There were bruises and marks of brutality on bodies.
However, the Operation Vanguard Taskforce has refuted the allegation but failed to show up in a Regional Security Council Meeting summoned by the Eastern regional Minister, Eric Keakye Darfuor on Monday
