Leading telecommunications company Vodafone Ghana has stormed the Ashanti regional capital Kumasi with its triple value scratch promotion dubbed ‘Ekiki-mi’.
The name of the promotion ‘Ekiki-mi’ which literally translates an electrocution, allows a subscriber who uses a scratch card to pass on the used card, to two other users who can also use the same scratch code for the same value.
The Central Business District specifically the busy Poku Trading area in the centre of Adum was virtually lit in Red pull ups and T-Shirts of Vodafone when the team arrived to launch the promo.
Speaking to Ultimate News’ Ivan Heathcote – Fumador live on the Ultimate Breakfast Show, an executive head of the company in the region Kingsley Sem pointed out that the promotion is to excite our customer base and also any new person who wants to join Vodafone.”
“Normally what people do is that they use a scratch card and throw the card away. But what we are saying is that you can give it to two loved ones, it could be your family, it could be your work colleague and those two people can also load with the same scratch card and get the same value as you have gotten,” he explained.
He also noted that whereas the original user will use the conventional *134* plus the PIN ended with # to recharge, the bonus user will have to use *135* plus the pin ended with # to recharge.
Mr.Sem further noted that the Bonus credit which is eligible for use in 48 hours could be used for on-net calls and for internet data throughout the two months when the promo is to elapse.
The promotion is being replicated in other regional capitals including Tamale, Sunyani, Takoradi and Accra.
