It’s impossible for Gov’t to do away with aid-Samiu

Member of Parliament (MP) for Kwadaso constituency Dr Samiu Nuama has expressed doubts in the ability of the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to run the country without borrowing.

The President has severally reiterated his promise of a Ghana without aid after accusing the previous administration of burdening the country with huge public debts.

But Dr Nuama believes his government cannot attain this feat within the near possible future.

Making the assertions on the Ultimate Breakfast Show, he said ‘I think that the focus, long term focus as a country is to be able to take ourselves off some of these things, I am not too sure if we can do that during our time because it is so difficult but we should all focus on making sure Ghana becomes a country which is sustainable, which is free from foreign aids, which is focused and which is very development oriented.

Governance is continues, you do your best this time someone comes so gradually if all of us move to a certain direction, I am sure within the shortest possible time we should be able to take ourselves from this’.
