The Presiding Archbishop and General Overseer of the Action Chapel International Ministry Nicholas Duncan-Williams has revealed that he married his first wife Francisca Williams because he was asked to do so.
The Archbishop broke up with his wife some years ago and married a second wife.
According to him, he didn’t know the nitty-gritty about marriage before walking down the aisle when he was 24 years old.
“I married at the age of 24 and at the time I married, if you ask me why I married I didn’t even know why I married. Yes I married because they said I should marry…It was out of my own volition but the thing was that I wasn’t educated.
“I didn’t even know at that time whether I was ready or I wasn’t ready but I did it because it was required that I did marry at that age because of the responsibility I was handling,” he said.
Speaking on Starr Chat with Kwabena Anokye Adisi popularly called ‘Bola Ray, he questioned why the educational institutions have not set up curriculum that helps to educate people about the intricacies of marriage.
He disclosed that he didn’t know that marriage was not about love but about purpose he he took his vows.
“The other thing is that marriage is one of the things that we go to school and none of our educational institutions have set up curriculum that helps to educate people about what marriage is all about and what love is all about and so we study everything in life but marriage and family is one of the most important things but there is no curriculum.
“We don’t teach on marriage, we don’t teach on family, we don’t teach on conflict resolution in marriage, we don’t teach on communication, we don’t teach on sex and we just expect people to marry and they get in there and they didn’t even know why they married and when I married I didn’t know that marriage is just not about love but about purpose,” he said.
