Nana Addo can’t be taken seriously if Asenso, Jinapor are not sacked – Yammin

The Ashanti Regional Chairman Aspirant of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Joseph Yammin has stated that there is no way Ghanaians will take President Akufo-Addo seriously if he fails to sack his two deputy chiefs of staff.

According to him, the President’s campaign to fight corruption in his government will come to a nought if Francis Asenso Boakye and Abu Jinapor are not punished.

The two deputy chiefs of staff were accused by controversial musician Kwame A Plus as ‘corrupt fools’.

A Plus was later invited by the police to provide evidence to substantiate his claims.

A Plus and the Police Deputy CID Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah in a telephone conversation denied that he has no evidence to back his ‘thievery allegation’.

Speaking on Ultimate Breakfast Show hosted by Lantam Papanko, Mr Yammin argued that the police deputy CID handling the case should also be sacked to serve as a deterrent to others.

‘If from today up to 12pm, I don’t hear these two young men sacked, then Ghanaians cannot take Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo seriously. It is clear they are corrupt, the police have deceived the public, they gave out concocted report, that is why the woman also has to be sacked,’ he said.

Mr Yammin accused A Plus of deliberately recording the deputy CID because he didn’t like the findings of the police which exonerated the two deputy chiefs of staff.

He questioned why the police report meant for the President was circulated to the media.

He claimed the deputy CID was working under the order of a ‘superior hand’ to give a ‘fake’ report to the President by protecting the two deputy chiefs of staff.

The Former Deputy Coordinator of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) said New Patriotic Party (NPP) corrupt officials are always protected.

‘It is the style of NPP, they know that their people are corrupt but they fine tune their corrupt deals. There are two truths, one to be told to the President and another to the public. Who was giving the deputy CID instructions? is it her boss, IGP or who?, to clear these young men even though they are corrupt? It is from the NPP hierarchy?, It has been the style of NPP not to destroy their own,’ he said.
