Kumasi: Pigs ‘swim’ in flood waters at TUC after heavy downpour

A herd of pigs were spotted floating on flood waters at TUC, a suburb of Kumasi in the Ashanti region after a four-hour heavy down pour on Friday dawn.

There is a pig farm around the area and residents suspect the farm might have been hit by the rain waters leading to the swimming of the pigs for their lives. Dakwodwom which is near TUC is noted for the sale of pork.

Residents looked on helpless as the sounder of swine struggle to swim to low level water places.

Some parts of the Kumasi metropolis have also been flooded causing vehicular traffic on roads.

Some people who were affected by the rainfall have locked themselves up in their rooms as the rain waters have reached their window levels.

Most of the stores have also been closed. Residents in the metropolis have blamed the perennial flooding to choked gutters which prevents free flow of water.
