The five bodies that were drowned in the Offin River at Amaadaa in the Atwima Mponua District of the Ashanti Region after a canoe carrying thirteen (13) farmers capsized have been retrieved by the rescue team.
This comes after the Ashanti Regional NADMO Coordinator Kwabena Nsenkyire provided them with life jackets.
The five bodies were drowned in the Offin River after a canoe carrying thirteen (13) farmers capsized.
Seven (7) out of the thirteen (13) farmers were able to swim to save their lives. One person was found died by the rescue team.
The dead bodies which were retrieved Monday include that of an eight-month-old baby and 10-year-old, both girls.
38 year old woman was retrived by the rescue team immediately after the incident happened.
The Atwima Mponua NPP constituency organizer Oboobi Bismarck who confirmed to Abusua FM’s Osei Kwadwo said the life jackets helped the rescue team to retrieve the bodies.
