The Director of Academic Affairs of University of Cape Coast, Jeff Onyame has charged the university to strengthen its monitoring roles in private institutions affiliated to it.
According to him, UCC, currently mentors about 52 private institutions across the country, a development, he explained is as a result of the high standard of academic discipline recorded by UCC.
He explained that, as UCC continues to remain the preferred choice for mentorship by private institutions in the country, it is important for the university to upgrade and equip its supervisors who monitor activities of these private institutions in order to ensure that, they provide the best form of monitoring.
Mr. Onyame made the call at a training programme organised by the Institutional affiliation office of UCC for assessors of the university.
Opening the six-day workshop of the Institutional Affiliation Committee of UCC, Mr. Onyame indicated that even though there are countless institutions waiting to be mentored by UCC, it was important for the university to critically evaluate its quality assurance level to ensure they are fit for mentorship.
