Three robbers arrested in Kumasi

The Ashanti Regional Police Command has arrested some suspected armed robbers from their hideouts at Dichemso, a suburb of Kumasi.

The three suspects were arrested upon police intelligence which led to the operation for their involvement in various armed robberies within the Kumasi metropolis and its environs.

The suspects include: Emmanuel Fosu ,27, alias Alhaji, Farouk Amadu ,25, alias Burger and Saliu Yakubu ,28, alias Baba Tunde.

The suspects are said to have boarded an Opera Astra taxi cab, picked unsuspecting female passengers and forcibly removed their dresses and tied them.

They blind fold their victims and rob them of their monies and mobile phones.

The suspects normally subject their victims to inhumane treatment by beating them mercilessly and sometimes rape and dump them off in obscure places or in nearby bushes leaving them to their fate.

The three suspects were identified by their victims during an identification parade today at the regional police headquarters.

The suspects are assisting the police in investigations.

The police have launched a manhunt for accomplices of the three suspects who are on the run.

The police addressing journalists today warned members of various syndicates to desist from the acts or face the full rigours of the law.
