Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah and his charges are geared up for their final 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying game against Egypt after securing a win over Glow Lamp Academy on Thursday afternoon in cape coast.
Ahead of Sunday’s game against Egypt, the Black Stars played a preparatory match with Glow Lamp Academy at the Cape Coast Stadium where they defeated the Academy side 5-1.
A goal each from inform striker Richmond Boakye Yiadom, defender Nicholas Opoku, midfielder Wakaso Mubarak, Raphael Dwamena and Agbenyenu Lumor gave the stars the win.
Coach Kwesi Appiah was able to field two different sides for each half as he tried different players in different roles.
The first half team comprised of; Lawrence Ati – Daniel opera, Abass Mohammed, Nicholas Opoku, Joseph Attamah, Godfred Donsah, Nasiru Mohammed, Edwin Gyasi, Richmond Boakye Yiadom, Nana Ampomah, Abdul Majeed Waris.
Appiah made nine changes in the second half with goalkeeper Richard Ofori, defenders Daniel Amartey, Kassim Nuhu, Abgeyanu Lumor, midfielders Mubarak Wakaso, Ebenezer Ofori, Godfred Donsah and attackers Patrick Twumasi, as well as Rafael Dwamena, getting a nod.
Ghana are out of the race in qualifying for the world cup but coach Kwesi Appiah is burnt on building a strong squad for AFCON 2019 with the test against Egypt on Sunday.
