Ankaful Psychiatric Hospital strike enters second day

Ankaful Psychiatric Hospital sit down strike has entered a second day despite calls by the Health Ministry to address grievances of aggrieved health workers at the facility.
The nurses are not admitting new patients with many new patients stranded at the entrance of the facility.
The nurses explained they have not had any official communication from the minister of health inviting them to Accra and also they will only call off their strike when the head of the hospital Dr. Eugene Dordoye is relieved of his duty.
They described the apology of the man as insincere.
Meanwhile, a lawyer and lecturer with the University of Cape Coast Dr. Kojo Tufuor has described the call for the head of the facility as misplaced.
According to him, the nurses have no business asking for him to be sacked as it is against the labour law especially when the appointing authority see Dr. Dordoye as the best brain to manage the place.
He explains that instead of the nurses demonstrating and calling for the head of the director, they should rather engage the appointing authority to address their concerns than to take the law into their own hands.
