The Manhyia Palace is calling on shops and store owners within the Kumasi Metropolis to disregard information circulating on social media that they are to lock their stores on Thursday following the final funeral rites of the late Asantemaa Afia Kobi Serwaa Ampem II.
There was some a rumour that stores will be closed tomorrow in view of the funeral.
But a statement signed by the Otumfuo Akyeamehene said, ‘Manhyia Palace would like to describe this communication as false and untrue. We entreat the general public to disregard this information and continue with their normal businesses’.
The statement called on the general public to join them in their mourning.
The funeral activities of the late 13th queen mother started last week Friday.
