KUMACA deaths: Sack Regional Minister & Health Director -KUYA tells Nana Addo

The Kumasi Youth Association (KUYA) has called on President Akufo- Addo to sack the Ashanti Regional Minister Simon Osei Mensah and the Regional Health Director Dr. Emmanuel Tinkorang following mysterious deaths at Kumasi Academy Senior High School (KUMACA).

Four students, a girl and three boys have died from what has been confirmed to be the deadly Influenza H1N1 2009 also known as the Swine flu in the past one week.

Felix Ibrahim, Organizer of KUYA told Abusua FM’s Osei Kwadwo that the association is calling on the President to sack the Ashanti Regional Minister, Regional Director of Health for their gross negligence in finding pragmatic solution to the mysterious deaths which have claimed several lives at Kumasi Academy from April, 2017 till date.

According to him, KUYA on April, 2 2017, expressed shock to hear that meningitis was the cause of the deaths in April, 2017.

“We then came out again with a statement demanding the type of Meningitis causing the deaths in Kumaca. It’s been about seven (7) months down the line and we have yet another tragic incident on our hands without finding the root cause of death. Now, a statement recently issued indicates that it’s not meningitis. We demand action and not mere words,” he said.

Felix Ibrahim therefore called on the President to institute a Presidential Enquiry to look into the cause of these mysterious deaths in KUMACA for the reason being that the sector Minister has danced around the issue and hasn’t found any lasting solution to the problem.

KUYA believes that the sector Minister should also be reprimanded for his sheer negligence.
