The Chief fisherman for Ankwanda in the Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abirem Municipality, Nana Kow Appiah is advising fishermen in the area to desist from having amorous relationship with young girls in the area.
The practice, he explains will derail the future of such ladies’ education wise.
The girls, he said ends up dropping out of school thereby losing the relevant knowledge from the classroom which could make them competitive job wise in the future.
The chief described as shameful the action of the men and says plans are being initiated to end the negative trend in the area.
Already, over 400 teenage girls have been impregnated in the area with majority of cases been put at the door steps of the fishermen who lure the young girls into sex using the fishes in exchange.
Nana Kow Appiah who spoke to Ultimate News’ Central regional correspondent Kwaku Baah-Acheamfour said he has started a campaign to educate the fishermen of the dangers of their actions with respect to their amorous affairs with the teenagers.
