The Ghana Insurance Awareness Coordinators Group (IACG) has begun a campaign to ensure that Ghanaians consider insuring themselves and their property as they make financial plans for 2018.
President of the IACG Wilson Tei is unhappy insurance penetration in Ghana has remained at an abysmal 2% due to a lack of awareness and low incomes.
Speaking to Ultimate News’ Ivan Heathcote – Fumador on the sidelines of the training for insurance agents, he expressed the need for Ghanaians to appreciate the intangible wealth in purchasing insurance for their lives and property.
He indicated that, “The Ultimate that we expect is that the public will begin to understand and to know that insurance is a tool to remedy financial problems that arise as risk management tools.”
Mr Wilson Tei however emphasized that the ability of the citizenry to begin appreciating and purchasing insurance products will depend on the vibrancy of the economy and the disposable incomes of Ghanaians.
