Today, 8th of January 2018, reminds us-the youth wing and the entire NPP fraternity of a historic moment. 18 years ago, on this day, TESCON was born.
On Saturday, 8th January 2000,TESCON was inaugurated at the Independence Hall of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology .
Legend has it that the idea to form TESCON was hatched by a group of able young students who saw the need to bring on board students alike who share the the ideals of the Danquah-Busia-Dombo traditon to form a block to contribute to the expansion of Ghana’s democratic frontiers through our great party, the New Patriotic Party .
We wish to use this opportunity to acknowledge the works of these individuals and all leaders and members, past and present, who have contributed their quota selflessly towards the development of TESCON. Indeed, history shall continue to be kind to you all.
TESCON, has since its inception proven beyond every reasonable doubt that the strength and future of the New Patriotic Party lies on the shoulders of its brilliant and committed youth.
It is in line with this that, I congratulates all and sundry who have helped sustain TESCON right up until this time.
Indeed, haven served as TESCON President for University of Mines (UMAT) and Technology and Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), I can boldly say that TESCON has contributed to who I am today and I feel proud to have contributed my quota to the success story of TESCON. As a TESCON president on KNUST campus I was privileged to organized the 10th anniversary of TESCON which had His Excellency Nana Akufo Addo in attendance.
While we celebrate the remarkable successes of TESCON today, we recognize and acknowledge that TESCON as it is today faces a lot of challenges and that if we hope to remain relevant in the body politic of the great New Patriotic Party and Ghana at large, these challenges will need to to be addressed.
Challenges bothering on making TESCON more attractive and sustaining its interest among students should be critically looked at.
This means there is more room for improvement and it requires hard work and dedication from all and sundry within the NPP fraternity.
I assure all members of TESCON and their executives that Nana B is committed to tackling all bottlenecks impeding the smooth operation of TESCON and whenever I am called upon, I will wholeheartedly avail myself.
As we commemorate today as the 18th anniversary of TESCON, let us forge on in unity and with the conviction of renewed hope that TESCON shall continue to be pillar around which the success story of the New Patriotic Party shall be told.
TESCON SHALL FOREVER REMAIN MY PRIORITY.
Long Live TESCON!
Lobg live the NPP!
Long live Ghana!
