Fire has destroyed two shops at Roman Hill in the Kumasi Metropolis.
The incident which occurred around 9:pm yesterday (Wednesday) destroyed properties worth millions of Ghana Cedis.
Caretaker of one of the affected shops Osei Kofi, speaking in an interview with Abusua Dawuro said the fire destroyed properties such as Television sets and standing and ceiling fans.
According to Osei Kofi, the fire started from the shop and spread to the other shop where they sell mattresses.
“When the fire occurred, I wasn’t around so I had a call from my friends and I came here to see whether is true or not. Some of our things have been destroyed by the fire. Some guys around help us to bring some of the properties out from the shops. I don’t even know what caused the fire,” he narrated.
Abusua FM’s Osei Kwadwo reported that it took the intervention of Fire Service personnel to bring the fire under control.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
