The state has revealed to the Accra Central District court that 15 witnesses will be called to testify in the full trial of the murder of Major Maxewll Mahama who was gruesomely murdered at Denkyira-Obuasi in the central region last year.
A Chief State Attorney, Evelyn Keelson told the court during the committal hearing that they are relying on 52 exhibits including guns, sticks, metal block, pictures of the crime scene among others.
The court presided over by Ebenezer Kwaku Ansah has set February 15, 2018 for the trial of 14 accused persons to commence at the high court.
The captain who was posthumously promoted to a Major ranked was killed by an angry mob in the area who mistook him for a thief on his way from jogging, when he and other military officers were stationed there to combat galamsey.
He left behind two children and a wife.
