Starr woman dream edition team visits minister for business development, YEA CEO

The Starr woman dream edition team paid a visit to the minister for business development, Alhaji Ibrahim Mohammed Awal to seek his support and involvement in the project since the project is in line with his ministerial work.

The Starr woman dream edition spearheaded by Starr 103.5 FM together with its sister network under the EIB Network in partnership with STAR Ghana project seeks to empower women entrepreneurs with disability to become successful in business, thereby eliminating poverty in their lives.

The minister commended the Starr woman dream edition team as well STAR Ghana for bringing up such an initiative.

He further stated that the project is in line with the president’s vision in terms of entrepreneurship.

‘The government want the youth to see themselves as job creators instead of seekers.

‘We agree with you on this project and we will work collective together to ensure positive response,’ he said.

The team led by Eyram Bashan expressed excitement over the response and presented a copy of the survey report.

She also pleaded with the minister to lobby his other colleagues to ensure the enforcement of the PWD ACT 715 and also bring out policies to suit women entrepreneurs with disabilities.

The team as part of the stakeholder engagement which is in line with the project also visited the Chief Executive Officer of Youth Employment Agency, Lawyer Justin Kodua Frimpong to brief him on the project and solicit for his support.

Lawyer Frimpong was excited about the project and lauded the team for taking up such initiative to address employment issues.

He said, the agency has policies lined up which includes persons with disability.

‘I look forward to working hand in hand with the team to boost employment for economic development,’ he said.

He also charged the team to bring proposals on how best they can create programmes to suit these women.

At the National council on persons with disability, the executive Director, Dennis Kwamena Dadzie expressed great joy on how the project intends to help persons with disability to thrive in business.

Upon a thorough brief on the project and the survey report, he pledged his total support to ensure the project success since the council is a key beneficiary.

The Group managing news editor and project lead, Eyram Bashan presented a copy of the survey report to him and thanked him for receiving the team on such a short notice and promised to work collectively together.
