KMA To Liase With Military In Sanitation Fight – Mayor

The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) has vowed to join Military team in the fight against sanitation in the metropolis.

Residents in Kumasi have raised concerns over how filth have engulfed the city.

The KMA Mayor Eric Osei Assibey speaking in an interview with Abusua FM’s Osei Kwadwo said the assembly will enforce sanitation law to enable it deal with persons who violate such laws.

According to him, since the military are discipline, their efforts are needed to be enable to tackle sanitation issues in the metropolis.

“Soldiers are there to help us when we are in trouble and now I will say Kumasi is in trouble as far as sanitation is concerned. I am in talks with the Ashanti Regional Military Commander and very soon you will see Military team in town educating the public on sanitation.

‘There is going to be a general cleaning where by KMA will invite the military to join to send signal to the public on sanitation,” he said.

He added that, KMA will invite Senior High Schools (SHSs) cadet to join the fight against sanitation.










Eric Osei Assibey suggested that concerted efforts are needed to be able to tackle sanitation issues in the metropolis.

He therefore urged the public to keep the city clean.
