The Deputy General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Koku Anyidoho is expected to appear in court today (Thursday) following his treasonable comments.
Mr Anyidoho who has been kept in custody was on Tuesday charged with treason following his comments in an interview with Accra-based Happy FM that there will be a civilian coup to remove the Akufo-Addo’s government.
He said the civilian coup will be borne out of the US -Ghana military deal which was ratified by Parliament on March 24, 2018.
‘There will be a civilian coup d’etat. There will be a social revolution and the movement is starting on Wednesday,’ Mr Anyidoho said.
Some members of the NDC including the former President John Dramani Mahama and the former Chief of Staff Julius Debrah visited him at the police headquarters in Accra.
The party and some groups demonstrated against the US military pact on Wednesday.
