Mr George Afriyie has been relieved of his duty as the Vice President of the Ghana Football Association following a meeting by the Executive Committee.
A new Vice President will be announced soon. This was announced on the official twitter handle of the Football association some few minutes ago with no explanation for this shocking news.
“Mr George Afriyie has been released of his duties as the Vice President of the @ghanafaofficial following a meeting of the Executive Committee. A new Vice President will be announced soon,” GFA tweeted.
George Afriyie who has been the Vice President of the FA for about three years recently announced his intentions to contest for the Presidency of the Association after the incumbent present announced severally he will not be seeking re-election in 2019.
His declaration seem not have gone down well with top shots with the FA, hence was recently stripped off his Chairmanship role with the Black Stars team with his deputy Osei Kwaku Parma taking over that role.
George Afriyie until the recent announcement had been the right hand man of the President of the FA, Kwasi Nyantakyi rising from been a member of the FA to the vice President of the Association.
