Liverpool defender Joe Gomez will miss the Champions League final and is a doubt for England’s 2018 World Cup campaign in Russia this summer after undergoing ankle surgery.

His injury is the second big loss to both Liverpool and England, following Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s knee complaint which ended his season against Roma.
Jurgen Klopp still has concerns over Adam Lallana and Emre Canas well, with the former still not fully fit after his hamstring problems and the latter struggling with a back problem. Joel Matip’s thigh, which has caused him to miss the last few weeks.
