The vociferous member of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) Hajia Fati who assaulted Adom FM’s newscaster Ohemaa Sakyiwaa has been released by the Ghana Police Service.
She was cautioned not to attack people again.
Hajia Fati was invited by the police after a complaint was lodged.
The Director General of Public Affairs at the Ghana Police Service, ACP David Eklu assured that an investigation has been commenced into the allegation.
Hajia Fati is reported to have slapped Sakyiwaa at the party’s head office in Accra for refusing to sought her permission before taking a picture of her.
Hajia said she mistook the journalist for an onion seller.
There was an altercation between Hajia Fati and the suspended Vice Chairman of NPP Sammy Crabbe after he attempted picking up forms to contest for the party’s chairmanship position.
The NPP issued a statement condemning the assault assuring to assist the police in investigations.
