Kumasi: Man Electrocuted on High Tension Pole at Asokwa

A man believed to be in 40s has been found dead on a high tension pole at Asokwa of the Ashanti Region capital, Kumasi.

Residents of the area woke up this morning to find the man hanging on the High Tension Pole.

Some of the residents who spoke to Abusua FM’s Osei Kwadwo couldn’t tell if the deceased attempted to steal copper cables from the High Tension or not.

According to the residents, they heard an unusual sound around 5:30am on Sunday June 3, 2018 and when they came out of their rooms, they saw fire on the high tension pole.

“We came out from our rooms to check the cause of the loud sound and the fire, we saw somebody lying on the high tension pole. We called fire service and ECG to help bring the body down. We don’t actually know what he was going to do on the high tension pole,” they said.

It took the intervention of Personnel of the Fire Service, Police and ECG officials to remove the body of the deceased from the High Tension pole.
