The President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Kwesi Nyantakyi has rendered an unqualified apology to the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia following a video by investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas.
Nyantakyi was caught in the video using the President’s name to dupe possible foreign investors.
He apologised for associating them with his private conversations.
‘I hereby apologise unreservedly to the father of the Nation, H.E. Nana Akufo Addo, H.E. the Vice President, Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, Hon. Ministers and Deputy Ministers of State for indiscretion in associating them with the private conversations on the video,’ he said.
He further apologised to his family, work colleagues, friends, associates and Ghanaians for the disappointment his indiscretion has caused them.
“I wish to apologise to my family, work colleagues, friends, associates and the people of Ghana for the disappointment my indiscretion has caused them. This is by no means an admission of wrong doing for issues on the video,” he apologised.
The GFA boss resigned from his position after a meeting with the Executive Committee on Friday afternoon.
