Non denominational marriage oriented Christian organisation Warrior Wives Prayer Ministries Worldwide has reached out to the Ankaful Psychiatric Hospital in the Central Region with food items and other consumables costing some twelve thousand cedis (GHC12, 000)
The organisation made up of Christian married women donated Bags of rice, gallons of oil, Detergents, 200 pieces of towels, 300 pieces of underwear, 200 packs of food and a hundred and twenty tubers of yam to the facility.
Speaking to Ultimate News’ Julius Caesar Anadem, the Chief Servant and Founder of warrior wives Mrs Agnes Odoi explained that her group was motivated to donate and share fellowship with the institution because a majority of people are documented to have ended up with mental problems through heartbreaks encountered especially in marriages.
Mrs Odoi indicated, “At Warrior Wives Prayer Ministries, our focus is on marriage. We want to see marriage work; we want to see husbands and wives living peacefully in marriage. So we decided that if a majority of these people have gone into this challenge because of marriage, then we will come and show love to them, pray with them, share the word of God and share something that will be needful physically to them. We believe through this they will also be revived into their normal conditions.”
The Deputy Director Nursing Services (DDNS) Grace Tetteh described the gesture as the first of its magnitude and a big relief to the hospital which is at its dire straits.
Commending the group she mentioned, “These days the government is not helping us like it used to be in the past where funds were coming in. We have to buy on credit to feed the inmates so with these things, we say hallelujah! and this is the first of its kind. It will help them to recover quickly and get back to their relatives.”
The Warrior Wives also took some time counselling the inmates, sharing the word of God with them and praying with them.
The group also shared packed lunch (Jollof Rice & Chicken) with the patients as part of their fraternization with the patients.
Warrior Wives Prayer Ministry Worldwide was established in 2008 to champion a crusade for fulfilling; successful, long-lasting marriages.
The ministry now has five branches in Kumasi, in Sunyani, in Accra, in USA and in the UK.
WARRIOR WIVES PRAYER MINISTRY (WAWPRAM) is a non-denominational, non-profit group of married Christian women who come together, twice a month, on Sundays, with a commitment and zeal to pray, study Biblical principles of marriage and seek God’s favour into our families. We do this with the hope of curbing divorce and broken homes in our society.
We believe the weapons of prayer and knowledge are the secrets to successful divorce-proof marriages and strong families. The Bible declares in 2Co 10:4 that “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds”.
This is reflected in our slogan: Warrior Wives! – Prayer Is Our Weapon!
WAWPRAM is a ministry birthed out of prayer and compassion to pray for healthy and strong Christian marriages.
