The online-based community platform, Water for Everyone (https://www.waterforeveryone.org) has been officially launched on March 1st, 2017.
This unique social-entrepreneurship portal allows individuals and organizations, both private and public, to create a profile free of charge.
It enables its members to connect, share knowledge and expertise, support existing concrete initiatives and create new ones, promote innovative solutions as well as contribute to the online resource center by posting articles, news, research findings etc.
The portal’s crowd-funding mechanism enables all members to run fundraising campaigns for their initiatives to bring sustainable solutions tackling water related issues and promoting collaboration across countries and regions.
Water for Everyone is a non-profit organization registered in Switzerland and developed by a multi-disciplinary group of professionals that aims to alter the harrowing statistics of lack of clean water available to millions of people across the planet.
“With more than 10% of the world population not having access to safe, drinkable water, there is more we can do to help alleviate this statistic. We strongly believe that every step counts to find out effective and sustainable local solutions for this global challenge,” said Mathieu Lamolle, founder of Water for Everyone.
“The purpose of this community platform is to educate while encouraging collaborations for a more efficient end goal. Besides, Water for Everyone will directly contribute to achieve United Nations Sustainable Development Goals: SDG3 (Good health and well-being), SDG6 (Clean water and sanitation), SDG9 (Industry, innovation and infrastructure), SDG11 (Sustainable cities and communities), SDG12 (Responsible consumption and production), and SDG17 (Partnerships for the Goals)”, he added.
“In our quest to achieve the objectives of the Safe Water for Schools and Hospitals (Safe-WaSH) initiative, we did partner with Everpure Ghana Limited to supply our beneficiaries (Table 1) a total of one thousand nine hundred (1900) bags of sachet water.”
“This is a milestone we wish to share with the world. This water supply was done from September, 2017 and May, 2018 with the kind sponsors in Europe. This was done and continues to be supplied to provide the school children with access to clean water (SDG 6).”
“This will ensure the reduction in water-borne diseases such as diarrhea, which is linked to kidney disease when they become adults. It is also to keep the children in schools as they develop taste for clean water to increase contact hours with teachers.”
