NBU Hub trains Asokore Mampong Youth in productive blogging

Not for profit organisation “No Business As Usual Hub,” has commenced a drive for youth in the Asokore Mampong municipality to channel their heavy use of the internet into productive purposes.

Hundreds of youth in the community have benefitted from a two-day training in blogging.

 

The participants were taken through the rudiments of setting up blogs to advertise their products, live out their purpose and share stories to transform society.

A blogger and vice curator of the global shapers’ community Agyeiwaa Appiah Kyeremeh told Ultimate News the nation stands to benefit if the youth channel their energies into profitable ventures.

She explained, “Connected thinking is just to engage young people on the use of social media and blogging for their advantage. We are in a technological era where everything is digitize so for you to even get an employment, sometimes employers do go behind you to search you on line so you need to get a social media presence.  They can also monetize their blog but it’s not a one day event, it takes time,”

Some participants who spoke to Ultimate News’ Fati Ibrahim shared how they are already adopting their blogs to market their ideas to the world.

A young resident of Asawase Abass, explained, “I blog about the Zango communities and most of us are having challenges, so I observe a lot and bring out the issues on media and then share the view which will be a solution to others.

A young lady who has begun a honey sales business Nashrayn indicated, “I am in the process of creating a blog for my honey business so, when I create the blog and then post it, I might get people who are interested and they can contact me, and that will be very easy.”

A painter Nuhu Yusif was elated, “I’m a painter and it’s very good to be here. I have been hearing about blogging but I didn’t know what it is about so I chanced on this to know what it is about. I will use it to promote my business as a painter.”

The No Business As Usual Hub is essentially set up in the Asokore Mampong Municipality to among other community engagements, train youth in entrepreneurial and employ-ability skills to create jobs and eradicate poverty in the young municipal area.
