Bantama NPP Women’s Organizer confirmed as Atwima North DCE

Assembly members of Atwima Nwabiagya North District of the Ashanti Region have overwhelmingly endorsed the president’s nominee Rebecca Yeboah for the position of District Chief Executive (MCE).

Madam Rebecca Agyeiwaa was given an outright endorsement with 24 out of 24 valid votes cast in the Yes or No poll, representing 100%.

Prior to her endorsement as the District Chief Executive for the District, some irate youth and NPP executives in the district demonstrated against her appointment.

The irate youth and NPP executives in the district called on President Akuffo Addo to revoke the appointment of Madam Rebecca Yeboah as the DCE for Atwima Nwabiagya North District.

They accused the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party Bernard Antwi Bosiako (Chairman Wontumi) for pushing the woman to become DCE of the district saying Rebecca won’t be the best agent for change in the new district while she was accused of not being a native of the district.

Meanwhile the traditional leaders in the district endorsed Rebecca Yeboah to become the District Chief Executive (DCE) for the District.

According to the traditional leaders, they believe Rebecca Yeboah as a woman can change the fortunes of the new district.

Today August 2, 2018, assembly members of the district proved the youth wrong and fully endorsed Rebecca Yeboah as DCE for the district.

Rebecca Yeboah after her confirmation thanked the assembly members, traditional leaders and promised to work together with them to help develop the municipality.

According to her, she will work for the betterment of the district and pledged to focus on education, health and sanitation.

However the assembly members have pledged to support Rebecca Yeboah to deliver and change the fortunes of the district.
