Chairperson of the Local Organizing Committee of the Africa Women’s Cup of Nations (AWCON), Hon. Freda Prempeh has assured that Ghana is ready to host the rest of Africa during the tournament later this year.
Hon. Freda Prempeh acquiesced that there has been a lot of setbacks that has brought about the delay in preparation to the tournament but she is hopeful that everything will be under control by November when the tournament starts.
She also believes that those challenges have pushed them to work relentlessly to ensuring Ghana host a successful tournament.
In an interview in Accra, Hon. Freda Prempeh lauded the efforts of government in helping support the LOC to achieve their purpose of work.
“There’ve been some hitches here and there but they’ve been a motivating factor for us reaching this height. These challenges have made us work tireless to move on to ensuring the tournament becomes successful,” she said.
“The LOC, Government and for that matter the Ministry (Youth and Sports) are doing everything possible to ensure a fruitful tournament.
“All the participating countries should he rest assured that Ghana is ready to host them; media team, supporters, etc, Ghana is ready to host them.
“Hotel facilities, securities, transportation, everything is fantastic. Those countries should come and experience Ghana’s hospitality.”
